stairway to hell

After 3 nights of attempting to get to this hike, 4 am on Sunday morning, we finally made it. Quinn slept in the car while Nichole, Tatum and I trespassed through a yard and up a muddy hill, snuck around a guard and made it to the stairs. We hiked straight up the mountain ridges on the haiku stairs for about an hour and a half before reaching the summit. The stairs were KILLER. We were there at the perfect time to watch the sun rise. The foggy morning was just like a dream. From the top you could see everything from chinamans hat all the way to lanikai beach. It was such an insane view. H3 Highway was right below us and the city lights were so pretty. We headed right back down cause we had to make Nichole and Quinns flight though. Using our arms to swing down the stairs, we made it down in half the time it took to get up. Managed to make it out without getting in trouble from cops or guards so props to us. Annndd we made it to the airport with time to spare. So sad saying bye, but glad to have my own bed to myself. Stairway was definitely a perfect hike to end their last day here in Hawaii. The whole experience was better than I dreamed it would be. (except the fact that i'm gonna be sore as hell tomorrow lol) Now back to school and real life. Also, side note but I leave in 10 days!!!!!

chinaman's (nichole's) hat

Hitchiked about 149850 times today to get down to chinamans hat. We walked through the water to the little island then nichole and I hiked to the top. We walked back over to the main island to hitch a ride to Haleiwa. We hitch hiked another 5 times before making it there. We went to Banzai Sushi to eat for their happy hour... just to find out that they stopped doing happy hour. lol we still spent 20 bucks  each on sushi. Good thing it was awesome sushi.

eddie wouldn't go

BIGGEST NEWS IN 7 YEARS: The Eddie aikau surf comp will be held at Waimea Bay February 10th beginning at 8am.

Lol lies. We camped out at Sharks cove till about 4:20 am then walked over to reserve a spot on Waimea beach. Slept there for another 3 hours in the FREEZING (55 degree) weather till we were rudely woken up by the announcer explaining that the Eddie would be cancelled. There were thousands of people on the beach who had ditched school and work to be there. Some people even flew in for it annnddd it was cancelled. Lol what a day.

(water) fallin down a trail

Ka'au crater hike. Feb 6 2016. Muddier, longer hike than anticipated. Kendra's dad (in town on business) drove us down to the southeast side to do this hike. 2 and a half hours later, we made it to the falls, muddy barefeet and legs and all. The waterfall was WELL worth it though. We played in the fresh water and snapped a bunch of pics before heading home. Well spent Saturday for sure! Love my girls.
