give mahalo

Hau’oli La Ho’omakika’i from Hawaii! Today is officially the first holiday away from home. Kind of sad that we don't get a home cooked traditional thanksgiving meal, but Kendra and I sure made the best of it! Today was freezing. Naturally we decided to hike up a muddy trail...with a pumpkin haupia Ted's pie in hand. Kendra carried it (cause I would've for sure dropped it) up to the sunset beach pillboxes. We sat looking over the ocean eating our pie. Then we went into the pillbox, set up our hammock and ate some more pie there. We had to be back for a thanksgiving meal with friends so we headed down the mountain, but it was a lot more muddy than when we started. We were slipping and sliding all over the trail. Kendra unfortunately dropped our pie 3.14159265 times in the mud... so the pie is no more. Other than that, good thanksgiving for sure. Thankful for this little island and all the lessons I've learned here. Thankful for good roomies to spend holidays with too. Miss home and family but so so thankful to be going home in less than a month! Peace (out), love and aloha.
